ICIC statement on verdict in George Floyd’s murder

The murder of George Floyd was a horrific and immoral crime that put a spotlight on the hatred, racism, and bigotry that has long existed in this country. While no conviction will bring back Mr. Floyd, we hope that today’s verdict brings some measure of comfort to his family and loved ones and is a step forward in the quest for justice in America. We can’t stop here. Real change means that we continue to work together to end systemic racism and social inequity in our society.
