Small businesses are the engine of America’s prosperity and when they succeed, good jobs are created, economic opportunity is abundant and healthier communities are created. With this in mind, we’ve teamed up with the nation’s largest, nonprofit, integrated health care delivery system, Kaiser Permanente, to support urban businesses in Los Angeles and Oakland so our inner cities can thrive.
Through the Inner City Capital Connections (ICCC) program, ICIC and Kaiser Permanente are delivering practical tools and resources to urban business owners so they can grow their companies and create jobs, opportunity, and well-being in their communities. By partnering with ICIC, Kaiser Permanente is furthering their mission to improve the health of the communities they serve by working to address upstream determinants of health and grow economic opportunity in the inner city.
Watch the video below to see how ICIC’s partnership with Kaiser Permanente has helped Uncle Darrow’s Catering, a full-service authentic caterer of Cajun, New Orleans, and southern cuisines, bring positive change to their community.
ICIC drives inclusive economic prosperity in under-resourced communities through innovative research and programs to create jobs, income, and wealth for local residents.
