Since 1999, ICIC has identified and celebrated the 100 fastest-growing businesses in under-resourced communities across the nation. The Inner City 100 (IC100) awards are published annually and unveiled in December.

IC100 winners are catalysts of opportunity, optimism, and transformation in the communities where they are located. These businesses have created meaningful employment and brought economic revitalization to their neighborhoods. They are a testament to the competitive business advantages of under-resourced communities and inspire entrepreneurs nationwide.

2024 Special Award Winners

Every year, three winners are selected from among the IC100 cohort to receive additional recognition from the award’s sponsors: Chevron, FedEx, and ICIC. The special awards include the Chevron Dorothy A. Terrell Community Impact Award, which honors the IC100 awardee who has the greatest impact on its community through quality job creation and civic engagement; the FedEx Champion of Global Entrepreneurship Award, which recognizes the company that exemplifies the FedEx commitment to diversity, global trade, empowering entrepreneurs, and creating employment opportunities; and the Business Growth Award, which is given by ICIC to the company with the largest percentage revenue increase in the four-year qualification period. Here are this year’s special award winners.

MAINSTREAM MEDICAL DEVICES, LLC – BUSINESS GROWTH AWARD WINNER

The Business Growth Award recognizes the fastest-growing business on the 2024 Inner City 100 list. Selection and ranking are based on percentage revenue growth from 2019 through 2023.

Mainstream Medical Devices, a majority woman-owned company in Austin, Texas, specializes in innovative medical solutions through contract packaging, manufacturing, and single-use OEM devices. Committed to integrity and enhancing patient outcomes, it aims to elevate the medical industry’s safety and quality standards with its state-of-the-art technology and exceptional services.

NORTHERN REAL ESTATE URBAN VENTURES, LLC – CHEVRON DOROTHY A. TERRELL COMMUNITY IMPACT AWARD WINNER

Named in honor of ICIC’s former President and CEO, the Chevron Dorothy A. Terrell Community Impact Award recognizes the IC100 company that has the greatest impact on its community through quality job creation and civic engagement.

Northern Real Estate Urban Ventures (NREUV) is a community development organization dedicated to creating inclusive, affordable housing and commercial spaces and revitalizing low-income communities. In addition to offering real estate advisory and construction management services, NREUV runs initiatives like Project Community Capital (PCC) and Heighten the Hustle, which support economic growth and entrepreneurship for underserved populations.

ELECTRONIC RESPONSIBLE RECYCLERS, LLC – FEDEX CHAMPION OF GLOBAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP AWARD WINNER

The FedEx Champion of Global Entrepreneurship Award recognizes an Inner City 100 company for its embodiment of the FedEx commitment to diversity, global trade, empowering entrepreneurs, and creating employment opportunities.

Electronic Responsible Recyclers, LLC (ER2) is a leader in sustainable e-waste management, focusing on innovative recycling processes and donating refurbished technology to under-resourced communities. By bridging the digital divide, ER2 empowers individuals with access to essential technology while promoting environmental sustainability through its core values of servanthood, continuous improvement, humility, and excellence.
