Rudd Resources LLC is a communications agency handling public affairs, PR and community engagement for corporations, philanthropies and nonprofits. Its work advances people, communities and ideas by using communication strategies to simplify society’s most complex problems. Today, there are 20 “rudders” (the nickname for staff) whose skills include communication planning, DE&I strategy, community engagement, design and buying, branding, and video production. Rudd Resources believes communication is everything, a belief that grounds its philanthropy. It provides pro bono counsel and services to Chicago-based authors and lecturers whose work is changing society’s values. It funds The Associates, an annual training program for new career professionals in public relations who are paid at scale for a 14-week associate experience. Its staff are mentors and leaders with IPREX, a global organization of independent public relations firms. It has done a community story collection with the Greater Auburn Gresham Development Corporation.
