Rena is a seasoned private equity and operating executive with more than 30 years of experience driving growth, transformation, and operational excellence across niche manufacturing, precision machining, transportation & logistics, and specialty chemicals industries. She combines deep transactional expertise with hands-on operating leadership, having served as both a Deal and Operating Partner throughout her career.
Rena is the Founder and Principal of AlignPath Advisory, where she serves as a fractional COO and operating partner to lower middle market, family-owned, and private equity–backed businesses. Through AlignPath, she helps companies at an inflection point, whether scaling rapidly, integrating acquisitions, or preparing for an exit: build operational clarity, alignment, and discipline to achieve measurable results.
Before AlignPath, Rena co-founded Laurel Oak Capital Partners, an independent sponsor firm focused on acquiring and growing industrial businesses. Laurel Oak acquired a carve-out of a large, refrigerated transportation company.
Previously, Rena was a Partner at GenNx360 Capital Partners, a middle-market private equity firm with $1.2 billion in committed capital. At GenNx360, she led and co-led transactions totaling approximately $350 million across multiple industrial sectors, representing more than $1 billion in aggregate company revenues. She also played a key role in portfolio governance and post-acquisition value creation, serving on several boards and leading 100-day planning and integration initiatives.
Early in Rena’s career, she also served as CEO of two private equity–backed manufacturing companies, including a turnaround and a corporate carve-out, and held leadership roles with General Electric, Bain & Company, Harvard Business School, and The Kraft Sports Group.
Rena is deeply committed to education and community development. In addition to her role on the board of ICIC, she serves as Board Chair of The Carroll School and as a Trustee of Proctor Academy, Lasell University, and the Lamar University Foundation.
Rena earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with honors from Lamar University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
