Prior to joining ICIC as an Associate, Cheryl worked as the Data and Program Manager for The Gus Bus, a 21st Century Community Learning Center grant-based literacy enrichment program in the Harrisonburg, VA area. There she managed the data and required reporting for three grants providing literacy enrichment and family engagement services for four elementary schools. The Gus Bus is one of James Madison University’s Institute for Innovation in Health and Human Services (IIHHS) community-based programs.
Cheryl has also worked as a senior Program Coordinator in the College for Career Readiness Department at Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, NC. Cheryl has an extensive background in youth and adult education, as well as, community development and engagement.
Cheryl holds an M.S. in Studies in Human Behavior from Capella University and a B.A. in English and Drama from Queens University (Charlotte).
